Creating and following a monthly business marketing calendar is an easy and efficient way for you to keep your business front and center for all those searching for your products or services online and within your market area.

In my book, 12 Healthy Habits of Business Leadership, under chapter 7 Market Like a Ninja we talk about the importance of an Annual Marketing Calendar and how it can be an effective tool for increasing your ROI (return on investment).

A fun topic to easily insert into each month of your marketing calendar is community events. Research all of the events happening throughout the year within your online or offline market area. Select the events that either reach your target market or support a cause close to your heart.

Then add each event to your marketing calendar. Now, each month you have a fun topic to share with your current and potential clients. Keep your blog posts or press releases short and to the point.

Important information to include:

  • Event Title
  • Event Date
  • Event Location
  • Event Entrance Cost: Free or Price
  • Event website
  • How this event relates to your product/service or why you support this cause
  • Include a picture from the event and the product/service it relates to
  • Your business contact information, location, and website url

Post this on your website, all social media, and to local media sources.
